A young boy is uncomfortable about staying the weekend with his alcoholic father who has run into some bad luck while his mom and new husband go to a Catholic retreat. His dad is just as uncomfortable as his son, especially when the beginning of their time together doesn't go smoothly. From the theft of his tools to his truck breaking down, they find the bad luck that plagued them at the start of their weekend begins to bring them closer and offers them a fresh start.
