George Henderson and his family are on vacation when they hit something with their car. Upon closer examination, they discover that what they have hit appears to be Bigfoot. The creature seems to be dead, but they take it home with them so they can show it off to authorities and may make a little money off of their accident. When they return home, however, it turns out that the creature, which they nickname Harry, is still alive. What's more, he is gentle and benevolent, and most of the family warms to him instantly. They must battle with George to convince him to harbor Harry from those who would harm him in the name of science or commercialism until they can take him back home.
