Airline pilot Whip Whitaker faces a terrifying challenge when some of the equipment on his plane malfunctions in the middle of a flight. Seeing no other options for a safe landing, Whip initiates a crash landing that results in almost all of the passengers on the plane being saved. He loses consciousness upon impact and awakes in a hospital. Instead of being hailed as a hero, Whip faces criminal charges because the hospital found traces of cocaine and alcohol in his system. He denies that this could be true, but in reality, he knows that he has a dangerous addiction, and he is going to have to beat it if he is going to have any chance of being cleared of the charges against him.
